Shoebox

UX/UI Design | Newco

Shoebox allows sport trading card collectors to match their card to an estimate pricing and keep their collection digitally in app.

Shoebox allows a collector to keep a digital catalog of their cards, and match it to the data to figure out its collection value.
The pre-grade service reintroduces grading in cards to collectors who wish to be conservative about their initial commitment. Instead of sending the physical card in and wait for months, users can take receive a preliminary grade in testing the waters. With the aid of AI, the grading of the card can be done through a few well taken photo.
The card has its card value, in Shoebox separated up to three tiers with its own frame. With additional grading, it could further raise the card's value for the collection.

Shoebox is where a collector first begins, taking their cards in one container that is accessible to everyone. The product begins there.

The initial design take focused on the nostalgia of having a shoebox in a child's room with collected cards. Early on the information were focused on the card value and providing live data, which later in development was find to not be as active of a number to provide its value.
Old exploration of frames for the cards. At this stage, a lot of elements still shared a bit of the retro look from initial design
A new design goes with darker tone, with holographic textured cases as decoration. There are elements more playful, but overall the Shoebox look should stay sharp.

The ability to create and curate Sets is explored after observing multiple creative ways that collectors organize their cards, and a more personal profile page.
